There and back again.. for nothing! !!

The final year exams are over and the results are out. So, it’s time to shake off the dust from all those text books you’ve bought over the four years and dig out the mark sheets, find a pencil, a calculator and sorry ass piece of paper and figure out your aggregate.
The dusty folder that contains my mark sheets.. Found it!!!

Concerned though we may not seem, but as we type in the magical 36+14s and other just over 50 marks onto the calculator, the sweat beads appear on the forehead in anticipation of crossing the 70 mark(considered dreadful… only among relatives) but for us it really is a great achievement. This is where one stretches out completely relaxed and sighs blissfully at having successfully overcome four years of hard work(Well.. questionable??? ) Lets just say four years of Engineering. At least it was for everyone I know.
But for the great one (me of course) this was not gonna happen
. Why? I didn’t have one of my mark sheets. I choose to screw up a paper badly in the seventh semester. I did clear through revaluation, but when I initially saw that ‘F’ among a happy happy line of P’s, it never bothered me to note down my marks for the other papers. And when I do get my revaluation results, my marks for the other subjects are not displayed. Anyways, I wouldn’t have bothered checking them because I was overjoyed that I cleared, can you blame me? So, there I was sitting down listening to all my friends discussing that need 0.45 and other similar figures to reach that magical number 70 (or just a first class in some cases). I really did sweat a lot, I didnt know if I had to apply for revaluation to boost up my marks to reach 70. One semester’s percentage can make a huge difference in the aggregate.
I am vetti (translation- jobless), sitting at home bored. So, I decide to go to college to collect my mark sheets and apply for reval if necessary. Convinced a few others to join me, and also a few who were in my position to come along. Jags and I, left in my car (as we are the only people going from my area). Others joined us in college. Made the journey to the old place, only to find out that the old mark sheets have not arrived. And what more? It’s not coming for another month. Sad sad position to be in eh? That day was the last day to apply for reval.
Something had to give in, I did make that long journey, so it can’t all be for nothing. Jags got three thousand bucks from college (for clearing through revaluation review). So, the pack decides to go out for lunch, Jags treat of course. So, we head to tambaram (a good 75km from college). Emerald park hotel, Atthangudi chettinad restaurant. The food was just great, briyani and parota. Just awesome. Totally worth the journey. Lifted my spirits immensely. As it turns out, Jags owns the hotel. Well, the treat didn’t cost him, but it was great just to go there and have that great food with friends.
Returning home, all I could do was sleep with a full stomach. It was almost midnight, when I started feeling that pang about my aggregate. I go on this rampage to find them online. Some stupid sites archives had to have it.
Friends, I cracked it. Click here for your seventh semester marks. I couldn’t find the reval results though. I knew my marks, hope you do too. This surely is much better than waiting for the mark sheets.
More good news? I didnt have to apply for reval. Turns out I have a 72+ aggregate. Cool eh?
Asides:
- John terry scored the first goal of the match in a friendly between USA and England. That incidentally is also his first goal as a captain under Fabio Capello. Only a true captain like Terry could bounce back from something like the Moscow penalty miss. Congrats! !!
- Atthangudi Restaurant in Emerald Park, the food was really out of the world. Real good Chettinad Food.

Ahem!! the magical figure is 75% and not 70, but still the aggregate is great. Glad Terry scored.
